The BASE-ics

Before you can indulge in the glitzy glam of holiday makeup, make sure your base makeup is on point. Your skin tone changes throughout the season, which means you will most likely be needing a light foundation shade around the holidays. Make sure you have a foundation and bronzer that matches your winter hue! To double your moisturizer as a foundation, check out Cover FX Custom Cover Drops ($44) This product is straight pigment that you can add to your daily moisturizer. Custom Cover Drops come in 25 shides, so you’ll be sure to get your perfect winter shade. New to contouring? Check out this simple to follow countour map:

Festive Lips

Lip color can make or break your holiday beauty look. Be sure to prep the lip and choose a shade to compliment the rest of the color palette.

  • Lighter pinks make you look softer and more supple, and deeper hue suggest a more mature look.
  • Before applying any lip color, clean, scrub and dry your lips. It really makes a difference.
  • Glominerals recently release their Holiday Lip Temptation line, do not miss it!

Glittery lips

Want to go for the bold, glittery lip trend? Learn how to nail this look, without shedding glitter all over the place. (hint hint, skip the lip gloss, go for laquer.)

Shimmer Right

Shimmer can be tricky, especially as you get older. If you aren’t strategic, you could accidentally highlight areas of your skin that you’d rather not show-off.

  • For a consistent shade, use Glominerals Cream Stay Shadow Sticks.
  • Use tape to guide your shadow and liner during application. Then simply remove the tape and show-off that amazing precision!

The Glitter Wing

Whether your new to the winged eye game or you’re a bold afficionado, adding glitter to the wing is the simple and surefire way to make your everyday look pop for the holidays.

  • Prime your eye with a decent eye primer.
  • Apply a light shimmer eyeshadow to the lid
  • Apply a regular black winged eyeliner, then trace it with a glitter wing. This adds a little pop to the classic look, especially if you’re a winged-eye on the daily kind of woman.
  • Don’t forget a lot of mascara.
