The leaves have fallen and so has your excitement with your daily makeup routine. Perk up, beautiful! There’s some fabulous, fun and unapologetically bold makeup trends this season that have your name written all over them. Who knows, maybe one of these fall makeup trends will become your signature look!
Rose-Tinted … Eyelids?
Embrace the warm and whimsy side of beauty with rose-tinted shadows. We know what you’re thinking: yes, pink eyeshadow is historically pretty difficult to pull off, especially if you have lighter skin. But this season, makeup artists are throwing the rulebook in the wastebasket and urging us to experiment with hot pinks and baby doll pinks.
When executed properly, pink shades look ultra-cool. Conceal the skin beforehand and use a primer so you achieve the flushed look, rather than a sickly look. If full pink still sounds intimidating, you can try a more dynamic look and add lilac or violet beneath the eyes or blended into the creases of the eyelid.
Eyelashes Are Back
You can pull that mascara back out from the bottom of your makeup bag. Long, bold eyelashes are back in full force. Experiment with false lashes in colorful shades or classic black lashes with uniques shapes.
Coffee-Toned Lip Shades
Espresso yourself! There is something about coffee-inspired lip shades that look delicious on everyone. These neutral tones are great news for our natural girls and also to those who are just dipping their toes in the whole lipstick world. Whether you go for the creamier hues or a bold “dark roast” shade, you’re bound to look stunning.
Smokey Eye With Brown Eyeliner
Typically, brown eyeliner has been neglected when it comes to the smokey eye or evening look. This season, soft is favored over harsh lines, so the brown eyeliner is a great alternative to black without losing the drama of the smokey eye.
We’re all about the cozy, earth-tone inspired shades accentuating the eye color this season. Soft browns and velvety rust hues really give the stage to the iris. Choose earth tones that accentuate your eye color. For blue eyes, go with warm tones to contrast the coolness of your eyes. For green eyes, choose purples, mauves and violets. For hazel eyes, For hazel and brown eyes, neutral or warm tones look best, although you can pull of anything!
While the look is eyeliner-less, you can choose to transition your look from day to night with a complimentary eyeliner.
Bold, Painted Eyelids
Looking for a completely new “going out” trend? Colorful, painted eyelids could be the next “bare face, bold lip” look. The runways are sporting bottle green, fuchsia, violet, white and liquid metals like silver and molten copper this season.
